One of my families favourite dishes is lamb mince with peas and potatoes.

This is an easy recipe as it is not only tasty but easy to cook and ready in no time at all. You can use beef mince or soya mince for a vegetarian option.

Recipe:

500g  lamb mince

Half cup garden peas
1 Tbsp ginger and garlic paste

1 medium onion  finely chopped
1 small jam tomato finely chopped
2 medium soft cooking potatoes quartered

2 aniseed

2 cinnamon sticks

a few curry leaves

2 Tbsp curry powder

1 tsp each of dhania, jeera and tumeric powder

Add oil to pot and heat

Add onion and seed spices and cook until slightly golden

Add tomato ,rest of spices and ginger and garlic paste

Cook for a minute or two until well blended

add mince and curry leaves and cook for a few minutes

Add peas and potatoes and turn heat to medium setting.

Add a little water at a time until potatoes are cooked

When done , garnish with chopped dhania ( coriander ) leaves

Serve with rice, roti or bread.
