My first day in Bangkok was an early start with a half day tour of the city. Included in this trip was a temple tour, a visit to the temple with the reclining Buddha , drive through Chinatown , through the city centre and back to the hotel.
My hotel was the beautiful Anantara Bangkok Sathorn which exceeded my expectation in both service and comfort. Ideally situated just a few kms away from the bustling city it was easy to commute to and from the shopping malls , night markets and restaurants. The concierge on duty was very friendly and ever so helpful with suggestions and directions to places of interest as well as popular shopping spots.
